“I see.” He nodded, still smiling. He hadn’t smiled this much in awhile, he was slightly worried that maybe he’d broken something. Maybe his face would be stuck like this forever. “In that case you’re probably always tense and nervous, huh?” He shook his head slightly, “I’m fine.”
“Not when I’m having sex,” She winked at him. “As I’m sure you remember. The rest of the time…More or less.”
Jesse blushed a bit at that comment, “That’s not something easily forgotten.”
“No, you’d have to go back and kill a certain butterfly. Honestly the odds of that specific butterfly even existing- Right, that was a joke. Sorry” He blinked down at the ground for a moment and then back up at Claire. “Quiet’s always a good sign, a bit dull, but good. Right?”
“No joke. I just really don’t like butterflies,” She smirked at him. “Quiet’s…quiet. There’s that saying about the calm before the storm. Quiet makes me as tense as noise and chaos. How about you? How have you been?”

theangelhunter said: “If I’d known about the butterflies before we slept together things would have gone a lot differently…” Claire grinned. “Hey, Jesse.”
“I guess they do call it the butterfly effect, step on one and the whole world could change.” He smiled a bit and shrugged. “It’s been awhile, how are you?”
“There’s certainly a whole lotta things I’d like to change,” Claire sighed. “So if I time travel and kill a bunch of butterflies maybe my life would be the way it’s supposed to be?” She chuckled a little and shook her head. “I’m alright. Things have been…quiet.”

Jesse walked down the dirt path, a small stone happened to be in his way so he kicked it sending it rocketing ahead dirt scattering as it bounced. He stayed quiet, listened to the birds, the occasional bee. A fairly small butterfly hovered around him for a moment before landing on his shoulder, he blinked over at it laughing lightly as it crawled around. “What are you doing?” He mumbled watching as it took to the sky once more.
